JUROR COMMENTS:
"For
over 60 years, the League of Milwaukee Artists has welcomed and
encouraged active artists from throughout southeastern Wisconsin. As
an organization they concentrate on two-dimensional media; however, this
exhibition reveals the variety of approaches this offers. Styles
such as realism, impressionism, abstraction and trompe l'oeil
find themselves applied to landscapes, portraiture, genre scenes
and still lifes in a variety of imaginative and individual
ways. While the number of entries was low in relation to the size of
membership, this show does reflect the commitment of members to get
their work out in front of the public and as the Museum of Wisconsin
Art, we are happy to facilitate this.
